Performing in major ICC events is a dream for many cricketers. Some players perform consistently, while others fail. Some cricketers make notable performances in one or two games, while others are not even selected to play. Those players have massive pressure in their minds as they represent their nation on such a big platform. The bowlers play an essential role in taking their team home in different matches. The T20 World Cup began in South Africa in 2007 with great fanfare. India emerged as the inaugural champions, and West Indies won the title on two occasions-in 2012 and 2016. The following list shows the top ten Indian bowlers with the highest wickets in the T20 World Cup history.

1. Ravichandran Ashwin

The right-arm off-spinner from Tamil Nadu has picked up the most wickets for India in the T20 World Cup history. Ashwin has scalped 26 wickets in 18 T20 games at 6.0 runs per over with a bowling average of 15, and his best bowling figures are 4/11 against Australia in the 2014 edition. The Indian spinner played his first T20 World Cup match in the 2012 edition.

2. Ravindra Jadeja

Ravindra Jadeja made his T20 World Cup debut in the 2009 edition. The left-arm slow bowler has picked up 21 wickets in his 22 appearances at 7.1 runs per over with a bowling average of 25, and his best bowling performance is 3/15.

3. Irfan Pathan

The left-arm all-rounder from India played his first T20 World Cup match in the inaugural edition in 2007. The younger Pathan brother picked up 16 wickets in 15 games at 7.4 runs per over with a bowling average of 20, and his best bowling figures were 3/16. He won the player-of-the-match award in the final against Pakistan and last represented India in T20 World Cup in the 2012 edition.

4. Harbhajan Singh

Bhajji represented his country in the first T20 World Cup in South Africa in 2007. Since then, he went on to take 16 wickets in 19 T20 World Cup matches at 6.8 runs per over with a bowling average of 29 and the best figures of 4/12. His last T20 World Cup game was in the 2012 edition.

5. Ashish Nehra

Nehra Ji played his first T20 World Cup match in the 2010 edition and the last T20 World Cup game in 2016. The left-arm seamer picked up 15 wickets in 10 games in his T20 World Cup career at 6.8 runs per over with a bowling average of 17 and the best figures of 3/19. Nehra formed a great bowling partnership with Jasprit Bumrah in the 2016 T20 World Cup and helped India reach the semi-final stage, where they lost to the eventual champions West Indies.

6. RP Singh

RP Singh was a part of nine T20 World Cup games, and all of those came in the 2007 and 2009 editions. RP took 14 wickets at 6.4 runs per over with a bowling average of 13, and his best bowling figures were 4/13 that came against South Africa in the 2007 T20 World Cup.

7. Yuvraj Singh

Yuvraj played 31 T20 World Cup matches starting from the 2007 edition and his final one in the 2016 T20 World Cup. The left-arm all-rounder picked up 12 wickets at 7.2 runs per over with a bowling average of 19 and the best bowling performance of 3/24.

8. Zaheer Khan

The veteran left-arm pace bowler was a part of 12 T20 World Cup matches and picked up 12 wickets at 8.3 runs per over with a bowling average of 26 and the best bowling performance of 4/19. Zaheer made his first T20 World Cup appearance in the 2009 edition and played his last one in the 2012 edition.

9. Jasprit Bumrah

Jasprit Bumrah leads the Indian pace bowling attack in all the formats of cricket. This pace bowler has worn the Indian T20 World Cup jersey in ten T20s and picked up 11 wickets at 6.4 runs per over with a bowling average of 22 and his best performance being 2/10. Bumrah made his first T20 World Cup appearance in the 2016 edition.

10. Amit Mishra

The Indian leggie was a part of the Indian T20 World Cup team in six matches, and all of those games came in the 2014 edition. Mishra took ten wickets at 6.6 runs per over with a bowling average of 14, and his best bowling figures were 3/26. The Haryana bowler won the man-of-the-match award in the first two games for India in the 2014 T20 World Cup.
