Indians and Australians have had a courteous relationship for so many decades now. The matches between these two countries are competitive, controversial, and colorful. India and Australia show a raging performance in a game against each other, but their relationship is friendly outside the game. Hence, many Aussie cricketers are auctioned to play in the Indian Premier League every year. Given below is the list of a few of these cricketers.

1. Glenn Maxwell

Maxwell is an all-rounder and right-handed batsman born in Melbourne who has scored 1728 runs in 89 IPL matches. He has played for Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, and Chennai. Glenn is one of the fastest scorers, and his career started by playing for Victoria in the Twenty20 Big Bash in 2010. In 2020, he was auctioned for INR 10.75 crores to play for Punjab and bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for INR 14.25 crore in 2021.

2. Shane Watson

Shane Robert Watson is a former Australian cricketer who played international cricket between 2002 and 2016. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-handed fast-medium swing bowler. Watson has scored 3874 runs in 145 IPL matches with an average of 30.99 and four centuries. Though the cricketer announced his retirement in 2016, he continues to play T20 leagues worldwide like IPL (Indian Primer League) and Pakistan Super League (PSL).

3. Pat Cummins

In December 2019, Cummins became the highest-paid overseas cricketer in IPL as he was auctioned for INR 15.5 cores to play for Kolkata in IPL 2020. He has played 37 matches and scored 316 runs. Pat is a fast bowler and lower-order right-handed batsman. He played most of his matches for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL and then for Mumbai Indians and Delhi Daredevils.

4. David Warner 

Warner is the top run-scorer among overseas batters, with only Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina, and Virat Kohli ahead of him. He has played four consecutive years for Delhi Daredevils (2009-2013) and seven for Sunrisers Hyderabad (2014-2020). David has played 126 IPL matches and scored 4706 runs; average 43.17; S/R: 142.39.

5. Alex Carey

Carey is a former Australian rules footballer and is a wicket-keeper who plays for the Australian national team. He made his IPL debut in 2021 and scored 32 runs in 3 matches. Delhi Capitals bought him for INR 2.4 crores. Alex filled in for the injured Rishabh Pant, who the team management saw as the first-choice gloveman.

6. Nathan Coulter-Nile

Coulter is a fast-bowler who represents Western Australia and Perth Scorchers in their domestic circuit. Nathan has played for Mumbai Indians in 2013 and 2020, Delhi Daredevils from 2014-2016, and Kolkata Knight Riders in 2017. His IPL stats include 26 matches with 52 runs in an average of 6.50 with the S/R 104.00 and 36 wickets with an average of 19.97.

7. Aaron Finch

Aaron James Finch is a top-order batsman. He plays for Victoria and is known for his hard-hitting ability to finish matches favoring his team. He played in Australia's Under-19 team for World Cup in 2006. Finch made his IPL debut in 2010 and has played 87 matches with 2,005 runs and 14 half-centuries. He was a part of numerous IPL teams such as Delhi Daredevils, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Mumbai Indians, Gujarat Lions, Kings XI Punjab, and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

8. Chris Lynn

Lynn had IPL deals since 2011, though some seasons weren't successful due to the injuries he played five matches between 2012 to 2016. Chris is a right-handed batsman who plays for Queensland in Australian Domestic Cricket and is known for being capable of hitting sixes. He has been a part of 41 IPL matches with 1280 runs.

9. Josh Hazlewood

Hazlewood is known for his accuracy. This tall pace bowler is often compared to former Australian paceman Glenn McGrath. His bowling statistics for IPL include three matches with 64 runs and one wicket; Josh played for the Chennai Super Kings. He left the first half of IPL midway due to the bio-bubble fatigue in India but has assured that he will be available for the second half, which is scheduled to commence from 19th September.

10. Daniel Sams 

Sams made his International Cricket debut in 2020 for the Australian cricket team; he was the leading wicket-taker in The Big Bash League 2019-2020. As Jason Roy got injured in IPL 2020, Sams replaced him and played five matches for Delhi with six runs and had given 153 runs as a bowler.
