10. Sourav Ganguly

Sourav Ganguly, the current president of Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) was the face of the team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the early days of the league. He was a local boy and was the captain of the side in it’s first edition. He reached 1000 IPL runs when he scored 42 for Kolkata Knight Riders against Mumbai Indians in the 2010 IPL. 9. Ajinkya Rahane

Ajinkya Rahane, widely regarded as a Test specialist was also an impressive T20 batsman in his early days. He played for Mumbai Indians from 2008 to 2010 and then shifted to Rajasthan Royals. He reached 1000 IPL runs when he scored 68 for Rajasthan Royals against Mumbai Indians in the 2013 IPL. He took 37 innings to achieve this milestone.

8. MS Dhoni

MS Dhoni, definitely the face of the team Chennai Super Kings from the start of the IPL and even till date. He was a middle/lower order batsman, a position in which it is very difficult to play big innings and yet he did score a lot along with scoring quick. 7. Rohit Sharma

Rohit had been the captain of Mumbai Indians for years. However, before getting to play for Mumbai Indians, he was one of the vital players of Deccan Chargers. Other than his useful part time bowling option, he was a key batsman in the Deccan Chargers setup. He reached 1000 IPL runs when he scored 73 for Deccan Chargers against Rajasthan Royals in the 2010 IPL. He took 37 innings to achieve this milestone.

6. Gautam Gambhir

Gautam Gambhir, along with Virender Sehwag, was an opening batsman for Delhi Daredevils in its inception period. Known for holding the record of most IPL 50s at one point of time, he had a tendency to score bulk of runs. That eventually led him to complete 1000 IPL runs in quick time. He reached 1000 IPL runs when he scored 26 for Delhi Daredevils against Kings XI Punjab in the 2010 IPL. He took 36 innings to achieve this milestone.

5. Devdutt Padikkal

Devdutt Padikkal was one of the highly talked players from Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2020 IPL. He had a really good IPL that year due which he got fast tracked to the Indian side in the next year. He later got transferred to Rajasthan Royals after the 2022 IPL mega auctions. He reached 1000 IPL runs when he scored 24 for Rajasthan Royals against Kolkata Knight Riders in the 2022 IPL. He took 35 innings to achieve this milestone.

4. Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant, currently the captain of Delhi Capitals made his IPL debut in 2016 and is known for his quick scoring ability especially highlighted by his 2018 IPL season where he scored 684 runs at a 173.60 strike rate. He reached 1000 IPL runs when he scored 128 for Delhi Daredevils against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2018 IPL. He took 35 innings to achieve this milestone.

3. Suresh Raina

Suresh Raina, also known as Mr.IPL, was not only a key member of Chennai Super Kings but also a key member of IPL itself. He is an important reason for why IPL is present today, the way it is. He too was known for scoring big and quick. He reached 1000 IPL runs when he scored 83 for Chennai Super Kings against Mumbai Indians in the 2010 IPL. He took 34 innings to achieve this milestone.

2. Ruturaj Gaikwad

Like Devdutt Padikkal, Ruturaj Gaikwad too was a find of the season in the 2020 IPL when he scored three back-to-back 50s in the end of the season. When he finally got to play a full season in 2021, he managed to win the Orange Cap. He reached 1000 IPL runs when he scored 99 for Chennai Super Kings against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2022 IPL. Sachin was not known for his T20 career. IPL started nearly 20 years after his professional cricket career started.
