IPL has been widely successful in producing young talents who would later go on to represent the country. With the likes of Rishabh Pant, Yuzvendra Chahal, and many more are the results and findings of IPL. Not only Indian but also overseas players also got the IPL as a stage where they could impress the selectors to get into the national side and play for their respective countries. On the other side of the coin, there are also players who, despite making an impact in the IPL, could not achieve the same success on the international platform.

1. Manish Pandey

Manish Pandey is the first Indian to score a century in the IPL. He has played for many teams, and during his initial outing, he delivered a fabulous array of master innings, which made him one of the most valuable Indian players in the IPL ahead of the likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. He finally made his debut in the Indian team in 2015 against Zimbabwe, which was widely praised. Time progressed, and the requirement for fast-hitting run scorers grew. Manish Pandey lost his place first from the T20 team, then from the test team, and finally, he was in the squad last year for the ODI team. His contributions to the IPL have not been successful during the past few seasons

2. Sandeep Sharma

Sandeep Sharma is a renowned name when it comes to the IPL, but he too was not able to express himself on the international stage in cricket. This can be said, but a bit of the luck factor also came into play when Sandeep Sharma was performing extraordinarily in the IPL; during that time, there was no requirement for a new pace bowler in the Indian line-up. After some seasons and due to new talent coming in every year, Sandeep Sharma did not make it to the Indian team as a whole. He made his debut in the year 2014 after just one season in the IPL but was seldom seen again on the international stage

3. Mohit Sharma

Another familiar name in the IPL Mohit Sharma played for Chennai Super Kings for a good amount of seasons and once won the purple cap. He was called upon to even play in the T20 world cup in the year 2014 where he displayed poor performance in international cricket. His performance in IPL also declined after a couple of seasons as more and more teams preferred spin bowling instead of medium-pacer bowlers, Mohit Sharma lost his touch but just played his match after a long time with Gujarat Titans.

4. Karun Nair

Who can forget that excellent 300 against England that he scored? Except for that 300, once he scored, Karun Nair following it up was not able to have much of an impact on the world of cricket. Karun Nair was seen as the next big thing in his first outings in the IPL, but over time Poor domestic performance and an increase in competition led him to lose his place first in the Indian team and later even in the IPL. He is now rarely seen playing any IPL matches.

5. Piyush Chawla

Piyush Chawla is a very familiar name in IPL. He is still playing in the IPL and is considered a successful leg spinner when it comes to IPL, he was a total failure in international cricket. Piyush Chawla played for India over a decade ago in 2012-13. He has an impressive wicket collection in IPL of about 150 wickets but was not able to perform a fraction of it on the international stage and has played less than 10 T20s and less than 5 test matches for India.

6. Moises Henriques

Moises Henriques used to be a very prominent player for the Sunrisers Hyderabad and was also seen as the next big Australian star; he even played in the 2016 T20 World Cup. He has impressive stats in the IPL, but he was not able to prove the same on the international platform. He struggled frequently to get into the T20 side of Australia as he had already lost the test position and had played less than five test matches in his career.

7. Naman Ojha

Naman Ojha was a wicketkeeper batsman for Sunrisers Hyderabad. He has played over 100 IPL games and delivered performances both with the bat and behind the stumps. Naman Ojha received an international call in 2010 for T20I, but due to his poor performance in the matches, he was ousted from the team. He managed to play less than five international matches for Team India.

8. Pragyan Ojha

Pragyan Ojha is a well-known IPL figure. Ojha has represented the Deccan Chargers in their IPL-winning campaign and the Mumbai Indians twice in their IPL-winning campaigns. Pragyan Ojha has played in over 90 matches in the IPL and has often delivered through his orthodox bowling and also sometimes through his batting. Despite having a successful IPL, he could not perform on international stages and played his last match in 2012.

9. Kedar Jadhav

Kedar Jadhav played for RCB and CSK for a few seasons and grabbed a lot of attention due to his batting and part-time bowling performances. He even had a decent international run in his first few outings as time passed, especially after 2019, he was ousted from the Indian team giving chances to youngsters and other players. Jadhav’s role as an all-rounder was also replaced by other players in the Indian team.

10. Ambati Rayudu

Ambati Rayudu is a popular figure in terms of cricket. He came into the limelight, especially after his batting performances in 2018. He even played for the Indian team as a regular player and a middle-order batter for a few series, but he was gradually replaced as he could not replicate his IPL performances on the international level. Ambati Rayudu is still part of the CSK squad and is playing in this IPL
