The famously known Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), founded in 2008, changed its name to Punjab Kings (PBKS) in 2021. The PBKS is renowned for having disruptive batters that can turn things upside down and produce high-scoring games. Despite possessing such destructive batters, they have not been as effective as other teams. They are one of the clubs without an IPL championship and have made the playoffs twice. In the first season (2008) alone, they were immediately qualified but fell short in the semi-finals. They enjoyed their most fantastic season to date in 2014, losing to Kolkata Knight Riders by three wickets after almost winning the championship.
