Cricket is the gentleman's game, and has become a religion in many nations. It has a sizable fan base. The game has grown harder for the players since the sport first emerged. Being chosen to play for the national team in front of a population eager to represent their country in cricket is never an easy feat. Let us look at players who did not get team backing.

1. Robin Uthappa

Uthappa was instrumental in enabling Yuvraj to launch the blitzkrieg during the 2007 T20 World Cup semifinal, but chances for the powerful batter were scarce after that. He helped India win against England in a stunning chase. He played a pivotal knock against them. After his final T20 match against Zimbabwe, his team did not provide him with any opportunities to participate.

2. Irfan Pathan

One of India's all-time greatest swing bowlers was Irfan Pathan. Pathan had the potential to be a massive asset to the country. He also helped India win the 2007 T20 World Cup. Unfortunately, Greg Chappell's whim to attempt to become a batter lost his career because he got torn between two options, and neither the board nor the captain at the time did anything to stop him from following this whim.

3. Dinesh Kartik

Dinesh Karthik finally received a chance to play for his country because he also competed in the T20 World Cup, thanks to the IPL 2022. Karthik's international career was destroyed because he was forced to serve as India's backup wicketkeeper. When he first began his career, he served as MS Dhoni's backup. After Dhoni retired, he served as Rishabh Pant's backup.

4. Ambati Rayudu

In the IPL, Rayudu, a still-talented cricket player, picks his opponents reasonably. It appears BCCI was not interested in him and chose players with strong all-around skills rather than pure batters. Since there are fewer and fewer pure batters in the game as it develops, you can't hold the selectors or the captain responsible for this. If you're not a VK or a Rohit, you better have something to support your batting.

5. Amit Mishra

Compared to the IPL, Amit Mishra's success was not great. Every time he put on the Indian jersey, for some reason, he seemed to be losing pace, and the numbers were hardly noteworthy. Yes, there were a few good performances, but if you want to stay on the national circuit, you should start putting on spectacular performances rather than a few good showdowns.

6. Ajinkya Rahane

Ajinkya Rahane, who, despite his evident potential, hasn't played consistently for the Indian team, has perhaps been the worst victim of not having the support of your captain in recent years. Before being dropped from the Indian team, Rahane had five hundred in his previous ten one-day international matches. He is still a regular in Test cricket, but the Indian selectors appear to ignore him in the limited-overs game.

7. Parthiv Patel

Like all other wicketkeeper batters of that era, Patel continued to live in the enormous shadow of MS Dhoni. His first term as an Indian player between 2002 and 2004 came to an end. The cricketing world watched in awe as a 17-year-old youngster with cherubic looks batted out the final session at Nottingham to help India win the Test, making his Test debut a topic of conversation.

8. Suresh Raina

His issues with the short ball were taken advantage of after the 2015 World Cup, and he got dropped from the ODI squad. He frequently joined and left the T20 team. However, Raina continued to score runs in the IPL and did so consistently. But he continued to go unnoticed. Despite India's difficulties locating the ideal No. 4, Raina has only played two innings at that position since 2016—both of which came in England last year. But only two innings later, he was given the boot.

9. Manoj Tiwary

After an outstanding Ranji season in 2006–07, Tiwary was selected for the Indian team's tour of Bangladesh and made his debut. He was, however, ruled out due to a shoulder injury. The Bengal player alternated between being on and off the team during the following few years. Tiwary's career was somewhat affected by Kohli's ascent and peak as a batter. He also performed admirably in the IPL. He could not truly push his way into the Indian side.

10. Ravichandran Ashwin

Despite being a devoted employee for years, Ravichandran Ashwin is currently unable to get a spot in the Indian side for limited-overs matches. He still competes for the national squad in Test matches. Ashwin recently got selected as the captain of Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the IPL, and while he performed admirably, he has yet to secure Virat Kohli's support in the limited-overs forms.
