Cricket is played with high precautions and measurements. Though players have many safeguards, injuries and fatal accidents do; occur on the field. In the past, players didn't have any precautionary methods to safeguard them. So there were many fatal injuries happened. Nowadays Even though we have high safeguards for players, some people are unlucky and stuck in a serious injury. Many minor injuries occur to the players on the field like sprain and strains. But they recover from this quickly. In this article, we will be looking at the 10 most fatal and serious injuries that happened on the cricket field.

1. Phillip Hughes 

The world will never forget the death of PHILLIP HUGHES. He was an Australian cricketer who played domestic cricket for Australia. He opened the innings as a left-handed batsman. He scored his first test century in the year 2009 when he was just 20. During a match at Sydney's SCG between South Australia and New South Wales, Phillip was struck by a cricket ball on his head. The pace delivery by Sean Abbott hit his head with force. He immediately collapsed on the pitch and was in a critical condition. He was taken to the hospital, but it all had no use, and eventually, he died.

2. Abdul Aziz

At no.2 is Pakistani batsman Abdul Aziz. He was a right-handed batsman and also a wicketkeeper.  He played a total of eight first-class matches for Karachi. He was a student and he worked for Pakistan state bank. One day when; he was playing for Karachi in the Quaid-e-Azam finals, a pace ball delivered by Dildar Awan struck him in the chest region near his heart. After some time, he collapsed to the ground and was unconscious. While taken to the hospital, Aziz died in the way.

3. Raman Lamba

At no.3 is RAMAN LAMBA, an Indian cricketer. As a batsman, Raman played a total of; four Tests and 32 One Day Internationals. He was so popular in Bangladesh's Dhaka Premier League. In some instances, he also played for Ireland. During a match in Bangladesh league match, a ball hit his temporal bone, which caused an internal hemorrhage. After three days, Lamba went into a coma and died.

4. Ian Folley

At no. 4 is the English all-rounder IAN FOLLEY. Ian was a right-handed batsman but he bowled with his left hand. He started with medium-pace bowling but later on, changed to spin bowling. He was such an amazing; talent. After some break, Ian was given a second chance to play for Derbyshire. And during a match for Whitehaven, he was hit under his eye and had a serious injury. But he died due to a heart attack while taking treatment.

5. Wasim Raja

Wasim Hasan Raja was a Pakistani cricketer who was also a match referee, cricket coach, and school teacher. He was half British and half Pakistani. Wasim played in a total of 57 test matches and 54 one-day internationals for the Pakistan cricket team. During a match at Marlow, Buckinghamshire, England, waism suffered a heart attack in the field and died eventually within a few hours.

6. Darryn Randall

At no.6 is the South African batsman DARRYN RANDALL. He was a first-class cricketer and also; coached several teams in an academy at Stirling primary school. During a league between fort Hare University and Old Selborninans, Randall was hit; by a cricket ball on his head. He attempted to pull short, but it stuck on his head.

7. Wilf Slack

During the 1970s and 80s, Wilfred slack played for Middlesex and Windward Islands from 1981 to 1983. He played as a left-handed batsman. He was also suffering from a serious; illness. He had been suffering from an illness that causes sudden unconsciousness. During a match at the republic of Gambia, slack fell unconsciously and died of a heart attack.

8. Jasper Vinall

At no. 8 is jasper Vinall. Jasper is the oldest known player, who was the first one; to die due to an accident in cricket. He died during a match at Horsted Keynes on 28 august 1624. Another English batsman Edward tye struck his bat on Vinall's head. Due to the severe blow he faced, Vinall died within a few hours.

9. Frederick, Prince Of Wales

At no.9 is Frederick, who was a prince of wales. He was the son of King George II of Great Britain. He was also the father of King George III. Some people say he died due to the disease  pneumonia. Most people suggest that Frederick died; due to an abscess caused by being hit by a cricket ball.

10. George Summers

At no.10 is the English batsman George Summers. He died after having a severe concussion on his head due to a cricket ball delivered by John plats hitting his head. He died in the year 1870 on 29th June. He died in Nottinghamshire which is located in England. During a domestic match between Nottinghamshire and Marylebone cricket club which; happened at lord's cricket ground.
