Mahendra Singh Dhoni, popularly known as “Captain Cool” by the masses, is the most successful captain there ever has been. Dhoni has always handled every situation on the field very calmly and has never panicked or made mistakes under pressure situations. MS is the definition of super cool—a man who doesn't let pressure knock him from his composure. Yet the oddest situations in international cricket have often caused even this man to lose his calm.  Today, we will look at some instances where MS Dhoni has his cool on the field.

1. India Vs Australia, 2nd ODI, 2019

In a former ODI in Adelaide, MS Dhoni contributed an important 55-run innings that helped India tie the series at 1-1. Khaleel Ahmed came onto the field during the last few overs of India's innings to carry beverages for Dhoni and his batting partner Dinesh Karthik. Khaleel unfortunately stepped onto the pitch without realizing, which irritated Dhoni. Following this, Dhoni yelled at Khaleel for stepping onto the pitch and promptly escorted him away.

2. India Vs Afghanistan, Asia Cup, 2018

Kuldeep Yadav, another Indian cricketer, had also contributed to Dhoni's rage during the Asia Cup in 2018. Bowler Kuldeep Yadav was visibly discouraged after failing to have any effect on the opposition squad during a game against Afghanistan. Yadav wanted a field change, but Dhoni quickly refused it. Normally cool-headed, the captain suddenly lost it and asked Kuldeep, "Will you keep going, or should I switch the bowler?"

3. India Vs South Africa, 2nd t20, 2018

When MS Dhoni lost his composure during the second Twenty20 game of the three-match series against South Africa at SuperSport Park in Centurion that eventually became a meme. Manish Pandey was reprimanded by Dhoni during their crucial 98-run undefeated stand as Manish Pandey appeared to be losing his focus from the match.  Pandey had a poor attitude and appeared unwilling to run between the wickets. As a result, he took the brunt of Dhoni's rage and got yelled at by Dhoni.

4. India Vs Bangladesh, 1st ODI, 2015

Mustafizur Rahman, a young player for Bangladesh, made his debut against Bangladesh in 2015, however, the debutant received quite a shock when Indian captain Cool Dhoni shoved him. However, Rahman was at fault because he obstructed Dhoni's path as the latter ran between the wickets. Rahman blocked Dhoni's progress to prevent the single by interfering with his movement. The Indian batter was forced to push the rookie away and hurt him in the process. Even though Bangladesh won the game, Rahman and Dhoni received fines for their unsportsmanlike conduct.

5. India Vs Australia, CB series, 2012

Another time Dhoni lost his composure was in 2012 when the on-field umpire was the target of the then-wrath. captain's Former Australian batsman Mike Hussey got out in the 29th over of the match against Australia after Suresh Raina's bowling caused Dhoni to stump him. After Hussey was declared out by third umpire Bruce Oxenford, on-field umpire Billy Bowden hurried to call back the batsman as Hussey headed back to the pavilion. In such an important game, Dhoni was not happy with the event and got into a fight with Bowden.

6. CSK Vs RR, IPL 2018

Even during a loss to Rajasthan Royals in the 2018 IPL, Dhoni was displeased with the CSK bowlers' incorrect lengths. He was upset with the way the bowlers were bowling. And this time, instead of expressing his rage verbally, Dhoni instead took a catch behind the wickets and threw the ball to the ground in disgust and anger.

7. CSK Vs RR, IPL 2019

During the 2019 IPL, in a last-ball thriller against Rajasthan Royals, Dhoni lost his temper. With three balls remaining, Dhoni was out on the third ball of the final over thanks to a brilliant yorker from Ben Stokes, putting his team eight runs from victory. Then, the unimaginable took place. The two umpires' apparent inability to agree on the height of the fourth ball delivered to Mitchell Santner led to a no-ball complication. Dhoni raced onto the field after taking off his pads and was seen yelling angrily at Indian umpire Ulhas Gandhe.

8. India Vs Sri Lanka, ODI, 2017

Kuldeep Yadav recalled another instance in which MS Dhoni lost his composure and became enraged in the middle of a game. Yadav was screamed at by the wicketkeeper after the bowler ignored his advice to set the field. Dhoni once asked Yadav to alter the field, remove the cover, and raise the point. Yadav denied it and didn’t change the field. Then, after becoming enraged, Dhoni roared at him, "Am I mad here after playing 300 matches?" After that, Yadav agreed right away, and he swiftly secured a wicket.

9. CSK Vs MI, Qualifier, 2019

One such instance occurred after CSK fell to Mumbai Indians in Chennai's first qualifier. The batsmen only managed to score 131 runs because they were unable to adapt to the wicket's slowness. Dhoni criticized his batsmen as a result during the post-game presentation. He wanted them to be more accountable and flexible as the pitch unfolded.

10. India Vs New Zealand, Test match, 2014

Shami recalled the Wellington Test in 2014, in which India lost control of the situation and Brendon McCullum went on to hit a match-winning triple hundred. During the infamous knock, McCullum was dropped twice, and Shami claimed he delivered a bouncer out of rage. Shami claims that when Dhoni approached him and advised him not to bowl the bouncer, he informed him "the ball had slid out of" his hands. To this, Dhoni warned Shami to not lie to him in an aggressive tone.
