Cricket is a sport that generates emotion in the truest sense, from exuberant grins and squeals of excitement to cries of agony and tears. Superstar cricketers are not too far behind in this regard. They have been exposed numerous times. At times, they have entirely lost control in front of the audience. Cricket players have occasionally lost their composure and sobbed while playing. Let us look at Indian cricketers who have cried on the field.

1. Vinod Kambli: 1996 World Cup Semi-Final

In the 1996 Eden Gardens semi-final match between India and Sri Lanka, India was 120-8 and needed to reach a score of 252 to win. It was too much for the fervent spectators. They began igniting pyres and turned to throw bottles. The game had to be called off, and Sri Lanka was given the victory by the match official. The last recognizable batter left for India, Vinod Kambli, continued crying uncontrollably and had to be removed from the pitch amid intense security. Even though it has been 25 years since that day, the Indian fans still cannot get beyond that image.

2. Virat Kohli: 2012 T20 World Cup

Cricketer Virat Kohli plays with great passion. Before he was made captain, he was just as dedicated to the group. When India just missed making the 2012 T20 World Cup semifinals, Kohli lost control of his emotions. When South Africa passed a critical run threshold that made the difference, he was fielding at long-on. One could feel for Kohli as he wiped away his emotions with the jersey.

3. Sachin Tendulkar Farewell Speech

The entire cricket crowd broke down when Sachin Tendulkar said, "My life for the last 24 years at the 22 yards." Tendulkar was overcome with emotion when the stadium's crowd began screaming "Sachin Sachin." On live television, he started crying because his emotions got the better of him during the speech. Tendulkar demonstrated his ability to inspire a whole nation not only with his bat but also with his remarks. There will never be another person like Sachin Tendulkar, as evidenced by November 16, 2013!

4. Harbhajan Sigh: 2011 World Cup Win

India's primary spinner during the 2011 Cricket World Cup was Harbhajan. India finally won the ODI Cricket World Cup on April 2, 2011, ending a long wait of 28 years. Ecstasy of the highest order was felt by over a billion Indians, driving them to tears of delight. Off-spinner Harbhajan Singh was spotted crying in excitement and euphoria that evening at the Wankhede Stadium as he celebrated the occasion with the rest of his teammates.

5. Yuvraj Singh: 2011 World Cup Win

During the 2011 Cricket World Cup, the all-rounder had the tournament of a lifetime and was one of, if not the main factor behind Indian victory. The World Cup victory served as a suitable capstone to all those efforts, and a moved Yuvraj was understandably moved to tears. His all-around performance, which included 362 runs and 15 wickets, earned him the title of Player of the Tournament. Such emotion was surrounding that occasion, which was perhaps the apex of everyone’s professional careers.

6. S Sreesanth

One of the first problems to affect the premier league was the IPL's "slap gate" incident in 2008. Following a game between the Mumbai Indians (MI) and Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) in Mohali, a brawl involving MI captain Harbhajan Singh and King’s seamer S. Sreesanth captured everyone's attention. After being taken aback, Sreesanth started to cry, and before his teammates could comfort him, they came over.

7. Ms Dhoni: 2019 World Cup Semi-Final

MS Dhoni, affectionately nicknamed as "Captain Cool," is renowned for his ability to handle stress and maintain composure under duress. Mahi, however, showed that he is human after all by crying a little during India's heartbreaking loss in the 2015 ODI World Cup against Australia. A tearful Dhoni entered the presenting ceremony to speak as the losing captain, breaking the hearts of a million of his ardent supporters.

8. Kuldeep Yadv: IPL

Kuldeep Yadav was forced to swallow a bitter pill during the Kolkata Knight Riders IPL 2019 match against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the shape of Moeen Ali's beating of him. After scoring 27 runs in a single over, the Englishman destroyed Yadav. Additionally, he let up 59 runs in his four overs, which is tied for the most runs given up by a spin bowler in the competition. After his spell, Nitish Rana consoled Yadav as he sobbed uncontrollably while drinking water. Yadav was sent into the depths.

9. Rohit Sharma: 2022 T20 World Cup Semi-Final

Rohit was spotted crying in the dugout after the game. Rahul Dravid, the head coach of India, was seen comforting Rohit in the dugout. Rohit Sharma, the captain of India's cricket team, was seen in tears after his team suffered a humiliating 10-wicket loss to England in the T20 World Cup semifinal.

10. Sachin Baby: IPL

During the Royal Challengers Bangalore vs. Sunrisers Hyderabad IPL 2016 final, Sachin Baby was unable to control his tears. While attempting to reach a lofty goal of 209, the Virat Kohli-led team fell eight runs short. With Stuart Binny and Sachin Baby squabbling in the middle, RCB needed 18 runs to win in the final over. Bhuvneshwar's superb death bowling was crucial because RCB needed 14 runs off the final two balls.
