Playing for your country at an international level is one of the biggest achievements one can get and doing so at a young age is something many cricketers do but doing so at an old age, especially in the late thirties and early forties is a very tough job today because of the level of fitness required at the international stage. Zimbabwe's national cricket team is currently the 10th best test team as per the International cricket council’s men's test rankings and last played a test match over a year ago. So here is the list of the top 10 oldest cricketers for the Zimbabwe national cricket team in test matches.

1. John Traicos

John Traicos is a former Zimbabwean-South African cricketer who played international cricket for both, Zimbabwe and South Africa. He is the oldest cricketer to have played a Test match for the Zimbabwe national cricket team. His age was 45 years and 300 days when he played his last Test match for Zimbabwe against India on 13th March 1993 at Delhi.

2. Dave Houghton 

Dave Houghton is a former Zimbabwean cricketer who played as a wicketkeeper-batsman for the Zimbabwe national cricket team. He is the second oldest cricketer to have played a Test match for Zimbabwe national cricket team. He played his last Test at the age of 40 years and 94 days against New Zealand at Bulawayo on 25th September 1997.

3. Malcolm Jarvis 

Malcolm Jarvis is a former Zimbabwean cricketer who played as a bowler for the Zimbabwe national cricket team. He is the third oldest cricketer to have played a Test match for the Zimbabwe national cricket team. Jarvis played his last test at the age of 38 years and 324 days against Sri Lanka on 26th October 1994 at Harare.

4. Andy Waller 

Andy Waller is a former Zimbabwean cricketer who played as a middle-order batter for the Zimbabwe national cricket team. He is the fourth oldest cricketer to have played a Test match for the Zimbabwe national cricket team. He played his last Test match for his national team at the age of 37 years and 92 days against England on 26th December 1996 at Harare.

5. Ali Sha

Ali Shah is a former Zimbabwean cricketer who played as an all-rounder for the Zimbabwe national cricket team. He is the fifth oldest cricketer to have played a Test match for the Zimbabwe national cricket team. He played his last Test match at the age of 37 years and 42 days against Sri Lanka on 18th September 1996 at Colombo.

6. Eddo Brandes 

Eddo Brandes is a former Zimbabwean cricketer who played as an all-rounder for the Zimbabwe national cricket team. He is the sixth oldest cricketer to have played a Test match for the Zimbabwe national cricket team. He played his last Test match at the age of 36 years and 274 days against Sri Lanka on 4th December 1999 at Harare.

7. Ray Price 

Ray Price is a former Zimbabwean cricketer who played as a bowler for the Zimbabwe national cricket team. He is the seventh oldest cricketer to have played a Test match for the Zimbabwe national cricket team. He played his last Test match at the age of 36 years and 273 days against West Indies on 12th March 2013 at Bridgetown.

8. Andy Pycroft 

Andy Pycroft is a former Zimbabwean cricketer who played as a batsman for the Zimbabwean national cricket team batsman. He is the eighth oldest cricketer to have played a Test match for the Zimbabwe national cricket team. He played his last Test match at the age of 36 years and 154 days against New Zealand on 7th November 1992 at Harare.

9. Mark Vermeulen 

Mark Vermeulen is a former Zimbabwean cricket who played as a top-order batter for the Zimbabwe national cricket team. He is the ninth oldest cricketer to have played a Test match for the Zimbabwe national cricket team. He played his last Test match at the age of 35 years and 160 days against South Africa on 9th August 2014 at Harare.

10. Brendan Taylor

Brendan Taylor is a former Zimbabwean cricketer who played as a wicketkeeper-batsman for the Zimbabwe national cricket team. He is the tenth oldest cricketer to have played a Test match for the Zimbabwe national cricket team. He played his last Test match at the age of 35 years and 151 days against Bangladesh on 7th July 2021 at Harare.
