The Indian Premier League (shortened as IPL) is a franchise-based T20 format competition in cricket. This was founded in 2007 and has completed over 14 seasons. This is happening all over India by taking Indian cities as their team's name. The IPL is the most attractive and fantasy that reaches all International cricket fans. The audience has a huge craze and expects more from every team and its players. The Australian cricketers achieved victory in almost half of the matches in T20 International matches. Australian cricketers have achieved the top ranks ICC T20 table. This is the list of the top 10 Australian batters who performed outstandingly in the IPL.

1.  David Warner

David Warner is one of the most disastrous opening cricketers in all the cricket formats and started his career in IPL in 2009. He took the captaincy for SRH for many years and made his team champions in the 2016 IPL T20 as captain. Warner was in for Delhi Daredevils from 2009 to 2013. Then, he signed to play for SRH. He played almost 150 matches with a score of 5449 runs in IPl besides, he made four centuries. David Warner donned the orange cap in three seasons (2015,2017,2019) with the maximum in those seasons.

2.  Shane Watson

Shane Watson, an all-rounder, began his IPL career right from 2008 as a Rajasthan Royals player, where he performed the best actions. During the ban of RR for two years, he played for Royal Challengers Bangalore. From 2018 till the present, he was signed for Chennai Super Kings. He smashed the opponent teams with his strong hands and scored 3874 in a total of 145 matches along the four centuries. Watson played his final game for CSK in 2020.

3.  Steve Smith

Steve Smith debuted in IPL in 2012 for Pune Warriors, and he got the ‘Man of the Match Award.’ Then in 2014, he was given the captaincy for RR, where he performed significantly for the team. In 2016 played in the newly formed team Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS), and the following year, the captaincy of RPS was allotted to him where he took his team to the runner-up level. Afterward, he continued to be the player of RR.  In 103 IPL matches, he almost scored 2485 runs.

4.  Shaun Marsh

Shaun Marsh, an Australian left-hand batsman, made his debut in 2008 for Kings XI Punjab. In the very first season, he became the orange cap holder in the season by scoring 616 runs. He scored 2477 runs in 71 matches which is far better than others. Marsh was considered as the vital player for Punjab.

5.  Glenn Maxwell

Glenn Maxwell, an Australian all-rounder, played his first match for Delhi Daredevils in 2012.  Mumbai Indians bought him in 2013, also the most expensive player. From 2014 he played aggressively for Punjab.  In the year 2021, Maxwell was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore after a bidding war and finished the season as the team's highest scorer, with 513 runs. In 97 matches, he scored nearly 2018 runs.

6.  Aaron Finch

Aaron Finch, an Australian opening batsman, gave his debut in 2010 for Rajasthan Royals. He then played for Punjab, Pune Warriors, Mumbai, and various teams throughout his IPL career. This aggressive top-order batsman is famous for his hard-hitting ability and for taking the match to finish victoriously. He scored 2005 runs from 87 matches.

7.  Michael Hussey

Michell Hussey ranks 7th place with 1977 runs from 87 matches. He played his first match for CSK in the year 2008. Hussey played maximum matches in his IPL career for CSK and very few for Mumbai Indians. He got the orange cap in 2013 for securing 733, the maximum run in that season. In 2018, he took the role of CSK’s batting coach.

8.  Chris Lynn

Chris Lynn, an Australian right-handed opening batsman, takes 8th place in this list with 1329 runs from 42 matches. He made his debut was for Deccan Chargers in 2011. Then in 2014, he played for KKR and was awarded the ‘Man of the Match award.’ He scored the fastest 50’s from 19 balls & 22 balls in IPL. He is a crucial player for KKR. In 2020, Mumbai Indians bought him.

9.  Matthew Hayden

Matthew Hyden debuted in 2008 for CSK. He became a prominent player in the IPL. In the 2nd IPL season, he got the Orange Cap as the season's highest run-scorer, with 572 runs. He scored 1107 runs from 32 matches.

10. Moises Henriques

Moises Henriques an all-rounder, a right-hand batsman from Australia debuted in 2009 IPL for MI. He was picked up by various teams in the various IPL seasons. In the year 2021, he was bought by Punjab. He played 66 matches in which he scored nearly 1000 runs.
