Many players from Andhra Pradesh have represented the Indian Cricket team. It is one of the elite states which plays all domestic tournaments in India. Hanuma Vihari is the current captain of the team. Charles Thomson is the head coach of the team. The home ground of the state is in Visakhapatnam.

1. VVS Laxman

The first player on our list is VVS Laxman. He is a legendary Indian cricketer who played for Andhra Pradesh on domestic stages. Laxman bats right-handed and plays in the middle order. He has played for Deccan Chargers in Indian Premier League. He has played 134 test matches and 86 one-day matches. He has a batting average of 45 and 30. He has 17 centuries under his name in test matches. Later on, he joined the coaching and commentator club. He was the coach of Sunrises Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League. He is the current coach of the under-19 Indian and India A teams.  He is also the head of cricket at the National Cricket academy.

2. Ambati Rayudu 

The next player on our list is Ambati Rayudu. Rayudu is a Telugu player who represented the Indian cricket team. He is the captain of the Baroda cricket team currently. He plays for Chennai Super Kings in Indian Premier League. He is a right-handed middle-order batsman and occasionally keeps wicket. He has played 55 one-day matches and 6 t20 internationals for the Indian cricket team. He has an average of 47 and 10. He retired from cricket in the year 2019.

3. Mohammad Azharuddin 

The next player on our list is Mohammad Azharuddin. He is a former Indian player and the captain too. He plays for Andhra Pradesh on domestic stages. He is a good batsman for team India. He has played 99 test matches and 334 one-day matches. He has an average of 45 and 36. He has 29 centuries under his name. Later on, he joined politics under the Indian National Congress. He has been awarded Padma Shri and Arjuna Awards. He is chairman of the Hyderabad Cricket board. He was accused of a spot-fixing scandal and got a life ban. Although the ban was revoked, he never came on the field.

4. Cottari Nayudu  

The next player on our list is Cottari Nayudu. He is a former Indian cricketer who played for India before Independence. He used to play during the period from 1920-1930s. He used to play domestic matches for the Andhra Pradesh state team. He played more than 200 first-class matches. Interestingly, he got the chance to represent India later and became the first Indian to captain test matches. He led the team for 7 test matches. He had the honour of Colonel in his name. He also received a prestigious silver bat from MCC.

5. M L Jaisimha

The next player on our list is ML Jaisimha. He plays domestic cricket for the Andhra Pradesh cricket team. He used to bat right-handed. He had a great personality. He was a right-arm medium-fast bowler who used to lead the team’s bowling department. He debuted in first-class matches at the very young age of 15. He got to represent the Indian cricket team later in his career. He debuted against team England in red ball format.

6. Venkatapathy Raju

The next player on our list is SLV Raju. He is another Telugu cricketer who represented the Indian cricket team. He represented team India in the late 80s. He has played 28 tests and 53 one-day matches for India. He used to be a right-handed batsman and a slow left-arm Orthodox bowler. He had a bowling average of 32 and 31, respectively. He retired from cricket in the year 2004. He was also a cricket manager and cricket instructor.

7. Venugopal Rao 

Venugopal Rao is the next player on our list. He used to bat brilliantly and was a right-arm-off spin bowler too. He is a former Indian cricketer who used to play for Andhra Pradesh's domestic team. He has played 16 one-day internationals. He has also played 121 first-class matches too. He has an average of 24 in tests and 40 in first class.

8. Noel Dravid 

The next player on our list is Noel Dravid. He is a domestic cricketer who plays for Andhra Pradesh. He used to be a regular player for Hyderabad even. He represented the Indian cricket team during the period of late 1990s. He used to be a bowling all-rounder. He bowled off break and used to bat down the order. He has played 4 one day matches for the Indian team. He is known for his good fielding skills. He later on, served as a coach for the team. He was chairman and selector too.

9. Hanuma Vihari 

The next player on our list is Hanuma Vihari. He is an Indian cricketer who is Telugu by origin, and he plays for Andhra Pradesh. He currently captains the Andhra Pradesh state team. He has played 102 first-class matches and 16 test matches. He has an average of 33.

10. Arshad Ayub

The last player on our list is Arshad Ayub. He is one of the best Telugu cricketers who represented the Indian cricket team. His primary role was bowling. He used to be a right-arm, medium-fast bowler. He played 32 one-day matches and 13 test matches for the Indian cricket team. Once his cricket career ended, he served as manager for the Indian cricket team, including the 2015 World Cup. He has a cricket academy under the banner of Arshad Ayub cricket academy.
